The island is one of the ABC islands, sister to Curacao and Bonaire.
But Aruba is independent with close ties to the Netherlands and Bonaire and Curacao are an integral part of the Netherlands Antilles, also known as the Dutch Antilles.

Things to do in Aruba waters
• Hi speed boat - Take a ride or let’s say “fly” over the water across Aruba’s Caribbean Sea, aboard a high speed 55 feet powerboat. The ride stops for about 3 hours at the private island of De Palm where you can spend time at the exotic beaches and visit Kokoa Bar. There is all kind of water sports and chairs and umbrellas are available for rent.
• Catamaran Cruise around the Island – Stop for snorkeling and view the spectacular Aruba’s colorful tropical fish. A second stop will take you to the Antilla, a World War II German freighter for another snorkeling chance.
• And continue to Pelican Pier to enjoy some of Aruba’s cuisine delicacies.
• Atlantis Submarine – Board the Atlantis’ Sub Seeker power boat for a short ride to the wrecks of the Mi Dushi I and the Morgenstern. It dives to some 150 feet under sea level and you may even ‘kiss’ the fish.
• Scuba Diving Caribbean for everyone – You can take the tour of beginners One Tank Dive or a more advance certified Two Tank Dive. Either one will show you the beautiful coral reefs surrounding the coasts of Aruba
• Glass Bottom Boat – Board a bottom Glass boat and enjoy multi colored tropical fish, shipwrecks and natural reefs covered with exotic sea life.
• Screamer Jet Boat Experience – This one is real excitement. This high speed boat is incredible; with 1,000 HP it practically flies over the water up to 45 knots. Be prepared to get wet from the ocean spray and feel like you are on one of these rollercoaster.
• Sea Trek Experience – Sea Trek is one of a kind experience. Walk 20 feet below the surface surrounded by the sea life that lives at the bottom of the ocean.
• Snuba – It is a combination of Scuba and Snorkeling that is becoming very popular in Aruba. Watch the sea life without the inconvenience of the Scuba heavy equipment.
