Need to stay somewhere close to a town

Last year I stayed at the Gran Porto Real within walking distance to Playa del Carmen. I'm wondering if there are any other towns that compare to Playa that we could stay within walking distance to. I really don't want to stay in Cancun. Thanks. Marci

There are several small towns between Cancun and Playa del Carmen.

There are also beautiful Mayan Riviera Resorts
on the way but if you want to stay in a town besides Cancun, Playa del Carmen is the place to stay.

In Playa, you may find from the most inexpensive hotel to very luxurious ones.

From Playa del Carmen you may visit many of the attractions in the area, like Xel Ha, Xcaret, Tulum and many Mayan Ruins.
