Last Minute Holidays

Looking for Last Minute Holidays? Is the Caribbean really as good as the travel brochures make out? Surely no place can really be perfect. Well, of course it depends on what you’re after.

Silver Sands Beach on Barbados Island

Millions have enjoyed the Caribbean this year

Culture-vultures scavenging for art, theater and museums won’t exactly find their paradise; neither will fashionistas hoping to shop ‘til they drop.

However, if you want a blend of rich, dense rainforest to bike through, white sandy beaches to stroll along at sunset, undulating mountains to hike up, coral reefs to snorkel around, charming colonial towns to dine in, well then the Caribbean is your Shangri-La.

Millions of visitors enjoyed the Caribbean this year. Despite a tough economic climate, holidaymakers were still delving deep into their pockets to book their dream holidays to the Caribbean. It’s not too late for you to grab a slice of paradise.

Three Eyes National Park near Santo Domingo Dominican Republic

Best for budget-hunters

With several charter flights operating on a regular basis in and out of the Dominican Republic, holiday prices to this sun-drenched destination are surprisingly affordable.

The resort of Punta Cana is a particularly good option. There’s not much else to do outside the resort, but if all you’re after is a week on a beautiful beach then this is your best bet.

Best for surfers

The west coast of Barbados gets some decent surf from December to March. The warm water means full wetsuits aren’t necessary and when the swell is right, the waves are consistent and can get fairly big.

There’s always somewhere to surf, with bigger waves generally found further north. If you hire a car you can surf everyday during the winter.

Surfing in Porta del Sol Puerto Rico called the Maui of the Caribbean

Best for romantics

The Turks and Caicos Islands are mere sand specs, strewn across around 100 km of warm Caribbean Sea. There are swirling white sand spits, lush rainforest-lined bays and beach huts boasting the best views into infinity on the planet.

Best for divers

The Caribbean is a world-class scuba diving destination and boasts a range of must-do dive sites. The Cayman Islands are generally regarded as the best. There are amazing wall dives and wrecks and a range of first-class dive schools.

There are many Last Minute Holidays in the Caribbean waiting for you.
