Please tell us about the beaches you know in the Caribbean... Some of Guadeloupe beaches feature dazzling white sands and others, of volcanic origin show gray sands of various colors. Together with the clear waters make an unforgettable spectacle. The exotic beaches on the island and the surrounding isles are so many, that I will make a choice and describe a few of them, which are the most renowned for their sand, water and services. • Anse Ste. Margueritè is good for Caribbean Snorkeling but not so recommended for swimming. It is located on the Atlantic Coast of Grande Terre. The Atlantic coasts of all Caribbean Islands usually have big surfs and sometimes dangerous waters. In this case snorkeling is good because of the surrounding reefs. • Anse Maurice is close to Anse Ste. Margueritè. Here you may find more shade and some food in the kiosks. This beach is safer for swimming and sunbathing because it is protected from big surfs by rocks put there on purpose. • In the area of Gosier a few beaches are one next to the other and feature a few hotels around them. One of them the Creole Beach lacks the necessary shade. The hotels guests have special areas near the beach for sunbathing. • Plage de Bois Jolan is on the Caribbean side – This beach is ideal for Family Caribbean Vacations, frequented by locals. It is located between St Anne and St Francois. • Salako Beach – This is a Sandy Beach with some shade. It features the Creole Beach Hotel.

The beach is protected by breakwaters. • Callinago beach is smaller and features also lots of sand and more palm trees. • Bas du Fort has calm waters and lots of sand and vegetation. Since it is shared by two hotels, it provides snack bars and hotel bars. • Pointe Tarare is a nude beach not far from Gosier. The beach is beautiful and relaxed. • Caravelle Beach features the Club Med. It is a great beach and makes me think of Beach Honeymoons. • Plage des Raisins has shallow waters. Located on the south coast. Is frequented by locals. • Anse Maurice, on the Atlantic side has some rough waters. • Anse Deshaies – This beach is eco oriented. It is great for lovers of Caribbean Ecotourism • Bois Jolan – Is a favorite with locals with families. The waters are shallow. • Anse Carnot – This is a relaxed beach on the neighboring island of Marie Galante. This is a great place to relax. • Petit-Anse – It is also in Marie Galante. It is very laid back. Sometime you’ll find your self on a “Solo” visit to the beach. • Plage Feuilliere – It is next to Petit- Anse. The same applies here. It is a very secluded and lonely beach.
