The Grenadine Islands is an archipelago of about 30 islands and cays that lie south of St Vincent Island all the way 50 miles south towards the island of Grenada.

Bequia

SBI! Action Guide

This is the largest of the Grenadine Islands with a population of 5,000 people. This is a beautiful island somewhat hilly and with a great variety of plants, nut trees, fruits and flowering bushes.

It features a few white sand beaches. Visitors staying in neighboring St Vincent Island come here for a day and may come on sailing boats arriving to Admiralty Bay near the town of Port Elizabeth to enjoy a stay at this delightful place. At the height of the season the bay is packed with yachts of all sizes.

Mustique

This is a privately own island developed for the “Rich and Famous”. It is a lovely island surrounded by bays and coves and miles of powdered white sand beaches. About 800 people live in Mustique, mostly catering to the visitors. The island has remained not commercialized and the whole island is a conservation area.

Canouan

It is a quiet and peaceful small island south of St Vincent. At some points the island is so narrow, that you can walk from one side to the other in minutes. Its great attraction is the spectacular beaches of white sand with some corals ideal for good snorkeling.

Mayreau

A very small island or more than a mile long is commonly visited by small sailing cruises or yachts While traveling through the cays they come here through Salt whistle Bay on the northern tip of the island and it has a protected anchorage.

The beaches are incredibly beautiful, with white sands and crystal clear waters. Most of the beaches are almost deserted.

Union Island

The island is rocky and dry. It is located about 40 miles south of St Vincent. It has two towns Ashton and Clifton and a population of less than 2,000. Paradoxically most of the population lives in Ashton but most of the activities are in Clifton.

This is a busy island from the tourism point of view. It features an airport, marina, restaurants and shops.

Visitors come here in order to sail to the Tobago Cays, most of them uninhabited. It has a few remote beaches and is somewhat mountainous on the inside featuring Mount Tabor and Mount Olympus

Palm Island

Lies south of Union island, a short boat ride away. Visitors stop here on their journeys from Union Island to the Tobago Cays.

Most of the island is covered by a privately owned luxury Resort. Casuarinas Beach at the west end of the island is the perfect example of an exotic beach.

There are two more islands belonging to the Grenadines, but they are part of the Country of Grenada. They are Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

Please find information on the page dedicated to Carriacou.

It features some of the Best Caribbean Beaches

Cotton House Mustique

Originally an 18th century coral warehouse and sugar mill, the late British designer, Oliver Messel carefully restored many of the original features of the Cotton House.

The Cotton House underwent a full scale renovation, completed in December 1996 and a second phase of the renovation in December 1997, the restoration of an original Oliver Messel house to the "Coutinot House" which now boasts five of the most deluxe and distinctive rooms and suites in the Caribbean.

With the third refurbishment and development in 2004 came the creation of the two bedroom Cotton Hill Residence, two Duplex Suites, a large swimming pool and a number plunge pools and the total refurbishment of all existing rooms.

It is widely recognized as one of the Caribbean's top established luxury resorts.

Mustique is one of the most exclusive private islands in the world and the Cotton House is the island's only full service hotel.

Petit St Vincent Resort

Petit St.Vincent, better known locally as PSV, lies 40 miles south of St.Vincent in the Grenadines; a group of islands sprinkled across what may be the most beautiful stretch of water in the Caribbean.

Part of the Windward Island chain, the Grenadines drift southwesterly from St. Vincent, the largest of more than 30 islands that make up the nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

PSV is a paradise of softly rolling hills spread over 113 acres surrounded by two miles of white sand beaches, PSV has been tamed just enough to allow for the presence of 22 discreet and simple, yet luxurious cottages.

Lying well off the tourist mainstream, PSV could be best described by what is not there. There is no airport, no formal check in, no keys. There are no televisions nor are there telephones in the cottages.

The Grenadine Islands are great for a perfect Honeymoon or just as an idyllic romantic getaway.
