Grenada Vacations
Verdant forests and flowing rivers and waterfalls
I recommend Grenada Vacations in this island also known as “The Spice Island”. It will be your greatest decision. The nation of Grenada consists of three islands, Grenada which is the largest and the two smaller of Carriacou and Petite Martinique. It is nicknamed "The Spice Island" because there are more spices in this island per square mile than in any other place on Earth. While on the island you can smell the delicious aromas of nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon or ginger. The origin of the island is volcanic. It features mountains, crater lakes and an array of tropical plants and animal life. The island is surrounded by crystal clear waters and spectacular white sand beaches. It's a great scenario for your Grenada Vacations.

St George's is the capital city of Grenada
Grenada Vacations on its idyllic beaches There are more than 45 Grenada beaches and I am dedicating a special page to them. Here I am just going to mention a few of them and elaborate in the Grenada Beaches page. • Bathway Beach • Grand Anse Beach • La Sagesse Beach • L'Anse aux Epines • Levera Beach • Morne Rouge Beach • Pearl's Beach • Pink Gin Beach • Tyrrel Bay Grand Anse Beach But nothing compares to the exceptional beauty of Grand Anse Beach, the most popular of all of them. Situated on the southwest coast. It is the main resort and hotel area. Accommodations range from inexpensive hotels to Luxury Beaches Resorts. This beach is a short distance from the capital city St George’s. All properties are beautifully landscaped, as a preview of the rest of the island that is full of rainforests and lush vegetation. Grand Anse is one of the main nightlife centers with its excellent array of hotels bars and restaurants. Your Grenada Vacations are incomplete without staying in this spectacular beach.

Getting there By Air Through Point Saline’s International Airport (GND) is located just outside the capital city of St George's, close to the resorts on Grand Anse Beach. The transfer takes between 10 to 15 minutes. Many airlines have flights to Grenada's Point Saline’s International Airport. Smaller airplanes are used to fly to neighboring Carriacou. By Sea The main port city of St George's and its horseshoe shaped harbor called the Carenage welcomes many cruise ships that visit for the day. The cruise business is growing and many cruise ships are stopping in Grenada on a regular basis. You may arrive in Grenada with your private boat of Yacht. I would recommend a visit with your boat or yacht to Carriacou. It is considered by many the Paradise for yachting.

Getting around Guided city bus tours are very popular among tourists to visit St George’s attractions and the rest of the island. Buses and taxis are also recommended to go around the island. And of course the eternal rental car always easy and giving you more freedom to visit the island by yourself. The neighboring island of Carriacou is a short flight away or can be reached by ferry. If you don’t have the time to stay there, it can be visited on a one day tour. Carriacou is more laid back than Grenada and an excellent spot for Snorkeling and Scuba Diving. The finest beach is Anse La Roche. Shopping Around St George’s waterfront Carenage or at the airport you’ll find many Duty Free Shops with a variety of products and souvenirs While in St George’s, the capital, enjoy Saturday morning Market. It's mind boggling the variety of tropical fruits you see. you'll find papayas, bananas, oranges, plantains and many others. Here may buy souvenirs to take home like baskets of nutmeg and other local spices; handmade dolls and handicrafts. In the bigger stores the best buys are Batik and screen printed textiles as well as handmade wood carvings.

Isn’t it great? Dining and Nightlife You can find in Grenada one of the best dining in the Caribbean. Here you’ll find Grenadian specialties, as well as all kind of Caribbean Cuisine. The national dish is called Oildown a “melange” of salted meat and other vegetables. I can tell you it’s delicious. Be prepared to see nutmeg in everything you eat from food to ice creams Weather The climate is an eternal summer like in most of the Caribbean Islands and you’ll find very few variations. Grenada is a great destination year round. The island as mentioned is full of lush vegetation, therefore has to be warm all year round with temperatures of average 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The warmer months are March to October while the “winter” season with slightly cooler temperatures is from November to February.
