Casa de Campo
A Top Caribbean Resort in the Dominican Republic
Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic is a short hope from Puerto Rico. We used to take a 45 minute flight with one of those small planes to La Romana, the town and airport that serves this immense and impressive Resort.

Why do I like Casa de Campo so much? Nowadays huge Jumbo Jets arrive from any country that you can imagine. The last time we were there, I personally counted 10 jumbos from Italy, Sweden, USA, and France among others. What make this place so desirable? Why people flock here from all over the world? The answer is a combination of reasons that I will enumerate:
Great Tropical Weather • The weather is pure tropical. It is hot, but there is always a light breeze blowing from the Caribbean Sea that can put you to sleep in seconds. I say that from personal experience. There may be a tropical rain here and there but if you were going to the beach, you may continue with your plans because it will be over in minutes.

The Marina at Casa de Campo
Most beautiful surroundings • The place is absolutely marvelous. Manicured gardens full of Bougainvillea in a beautiful array of colors. Red tiled air-conditioned houses with all facilities to make your stay a comfortable one. • Once you arrive and check in you get a Golf cart to move around the premises. What else can you ask for? • Breakfast is served in the open air restaurant and has a variety of tropical fruits and yummy breakfast delights. I hope you are not on diet. • All sports you can imagine: Tennis, water sports, Swimming, snorkeling, Deep Sea fishing, Horseback riding and many more.

One of the best Golf in the world • But the king of all sports in this paradise is Golf. It is recognized as the best golf in the Caribbean. Three of the world’s most renowned courses were designed by Pete Dye a universally recognized golf Course Architect. • They offer programs for children and teenagers, so Mom and Dad can enjoy the nearby Minitas beach with all facilities you can expect from such a resort. • Not everything happens in Casa de campo. In nearby town of La Romana you’ll find the finest restaurants with International and Caribbean Cuisine. • A short trip takes you to “Altos de Chavon” a colonial enclave next to the mouth of the Chavon River offering a breathtaking amphitheater where many famous performers like Placido Domingo or Julio Iglesias appear on a regular basis. Last time we saw the performance of the famous Cirque de Soleil. In Altos de Chavon there are also many fine restaurants and souvenir shops. • Some Caribbean Cruises stop here for a day offering the cruisers an unforgettable experience.
