Like in the rest of the world Caribbean Sports are extremely popular in this region. Many travelers enjoy them while visiting the Islands.
The islands of British origin practice sports like football (soccer), and cricket. The British sport of Rugby is also very popular throughout the Caribbean Islands and there are many Caribbean Rugby Teams and even a West Indies Rugby Union.

Baseball
In the Spanish speaking countries of the Caribbean like, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic the King of Caribbean Sports is Baseball.
Since I can remember Baseball has been popular in Cuba where I was born and then in Puerto Rico where I spent so many years.
When living in Florida Baseball it was as important as in those countries.
Some of the greatest Baseball players in the Big Leagues are original from those three countries as Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez from Cuba, Roberto Clemente from Puerto Rico and Sammy Sosa from the Dominican Republic.
Once in the Caribbean if the time is right you can enjoy one of these quality games and transport yourself home with a cold beer and a hot dog at hand.

Being this part of the world surrounded by of Exotic Beaches like Anguilla Island and Barbados.
And so many Coral Reefs, like Antigua and Barbuda Island, Isla Roatan and the Cayman Islands, water sports are very important.
Practically all islands have the necessary facilities for those Caribbean sports, to cater of all the tourists needs.
These are important Caribbean Sport and also means of transportation between the islands. Some of them don’t even have an airport, so the only way to get to them is by boat.
All tourists can charter a sailboat for a day and practically decide what to do during that day.
You may sail to nearby isles for Caribbean Snorkeling, kayaking and Scuba Diving Caribbean, or just set sail to nowhere and relax.
Many larger yachts companies offer the transportation and crews made of captain and cook at your service to comply with any of your wishes of transportation and culinary cravings.
That is idyllic for Island Hopping on Caribbean Family Vacations, Honeymoons and more.
With some of the smaller boats you can hop between islands, explore tiny ports that big ship couldn’t visit and swim and snorkel in small coves.

Caribbean Snorkeling and Scuba Diving
Sailing brings us to going deeper into the azure waters of the area. In any island like St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Aruba or Bonaire, there are the usual facilities for these Caribbean Sports and the staff to teach you how to start practicing them with full security and knowledge.
The Organization regulating these sports is PADI “The Professional Association of Dive Instructors”.
A certification by this organization is imperative for any resort or hotel offering those services in a reputable way.
In the Islands of Bahamas and some other islands there are a few resorts singled out as PADI Gold Palm resorts.
Those receiving this recognition are considered la “creme de la creme” or French for the best of the best.
The array of Coral reefs that surround those islands naturally are the perfect scenario for these sports.
Tourist comes from all over the world to the area just for that. Many repeat the visits year after year.

The Beaches of Rincon, Puerto Rico
My love for Puerto Rico won't let me leave this page on Caribbean Sports without mentioning again the Beaches of Rincon, in the west.
If Puerto Rico is called the Caribbean’s Surf Capital, then Rincon is the center of that.
The waves go from two to twenty feet high. The mix of Caribbean Sea and the rough Atlantic Ocean make this area in Porta del Sol, Puerto Rico the ideal place for Caribbean Sports of all type.
