Ambergris Caye – La Isla Bonita This is a tropical paradise with lots of palm trees, turquoise waters and also features the second largest coral reef in the world. It is just a 15 minute flight from Belize’s International Airport. It is Belize’s largest island. In such a short time you will be among beautiful caves, all kind of corals, sponges and tropical fish that will make your head spin with incredibility. That is why this island is so famous for its scuba diving. Other attractions are birds, crocodiles and manatees. The only town of San Pedro is lively and hosts many cafes restaurants and Caribbean Music to accompany your drink while the sun sets over. There are many wooden houses with a mix of Caribbean and Mexican styles, as well as many with British style as a heritage of the British Colony Times. The ancient inhabitants of the Belize Islands were the Mayans. Spanish foods if you were in Guatemala and Honduras. Seafood is a must, because they are surrounded by the most deep waters where all kind of fish have their habitat. You’ll find lobster, conch and many fish to choose from. Ant let’s not forget the tropical fruits such as mangoes, bananas, pineapples, oranges, tangerines and much more. Much of it is totally unexplored and all of it is easily accessible by boat. The reef is like a gigantic wall running parallel to the coast. Between the mainland and the reef are shallow, sandy waters with numerous mangrove-covered islands.
