Getting there on your Bahamas Travel

By air

Getting to Bahamas by air is simple. There are many airports all over the islands. You can plan your tip accordingly. Due to its closeness to The United States there are daily flights to Nassau and Freeport. Once in the country, there are many options with small airlines and charters to fly to all the others.

There are a total of 62 airports of which only half have paved runways. The small planes doing the Island Hoping can do it with no problem. The big aircraft of the major carriers will land at Nassau International Airport and Freeport International Airport, only.

Flights from Miami to Nassau can take as little as 35 minutes. Flights take two hours from Atlanta, two and a half hours from New York, and approximately three hours from Toronto.

Being the Bahamas a country of 700 islands, besides by boat, the only way to visit them all is by plane. All the islands have some kind of airport or some kind of runway. Many of them are unpaved. But they are enough for small planes to land.

Weather
