The marine life surrounding Antigua Island is awe inspiring
Both islands are surrounded by well preserved coral reefs. The water temperature averages about 80F or 25C, making these islands a perfect venue for all kind of water sports. The waters are so clear that visibility sometimes fluctuates from 50 to 140 feet. The variety of fish and all kind of marine life is awe inspiring. There is a well-known spot where you can see the Andes, a merchant ship that sank in these waters in 1905. The place where it lays is called Deep bay, but don’t be mislead by the name the waters where the ship wreck is located is less than thirty feet deep.

Great Antigua Beaches for Caribbean Snorkeling • Pigeons Point Located at Falmouth Harbor, a few minutes’ drive from Admiral’s Inn features calm waters and white sands. It is located north of St John’s. The waters are so clear that visibility is very high. The only minus is that since it is a tourist zone, it may be overcrowded, especially when ships are in town. • Half Moon Bay Half Moon Bay Antigua is located east of English Harbour; this is in many tourists eyes the most beautiful of Antigua Beaches. The Atlantic Ocean’s waters are rough, therefore ideal for surfers. But, the big reef protecting the beach is also ideal for snorkelers. • Long Bay It is located in front of the Atlantic in the far east of Antigua. The shallow waters provide for very good snorkeling around the stunning coral reefs.
